On my Strats I typically use the d'addario 10-46 set. But the 408, with its shorter scale, allows me to use their 11-50 set. Helps fill in a bit of the squawkiness of rolling off the tone on the neck pup.

On the "21 Rules of Tone" thing, I always imagined that a glued-on plastic strip would have to rob your beautiful wood body/neck of some of their resonance. Even if the binding is wood, it would do the same.... yes or no??
