    DIY'er or....?

I'm a sometimes DIY and sometimes pay someone else. Having done most repairs and upgrades to our house and vehicles over the years I've learned that I really don't enjoy doing most of them. I did it to save money at the expense of pain in my hands. Nowadays I'd usually rather pay someone else...

    Today I'm Thankful...

Well said Lloyd, and thanks for saying it. While I'm still a newbie here, I've been around computer forums for long enough to realize that this is at the top of the pile. The folks here all seem to genuinely care about each other and while there is teasing, it's all in good humor. I'm thankful...

    Ok, why'd you do it?

I started off with piano when I was 8 years old and took classical music lessons for 4 years. Being the sole musician in a household of non-musicians, I got to where I couldn't stand playing the piano because it was so out of tune but I couldn't convince my father to get it tuned. So I stopped...

PRS Vela Electric Guitar Demo Chappers and Captain

I got a surf-green Vela about a month ago. It was my first PRS.

New to me Tremonti - and some questions

I found the problem. One of the wires that should be on the tone control is no longer connected to it - surprisingly not the ground though. But instead of fighting that, I ordered a full CTS upgrade wiring kit from Stewart-McDonald that should be here early next week. It's a new 3-way switch...

    Modified Monday

I'm falling into the mod- mode now. My core Custom 24 and Vela will stay stock but I got a Tremonti SE for cheap (actually it's the least I've paid for any guitar I own) and it's going to get changed around a bit. I already have new electronics coming for it along with a new nut. I'll probably...

    Smelly guitar

I bought a used 2002 Tremonti SE the other night. It's in surprisingly good shape but is well-used and the guy admitted that he just played it - he didn't ever clean it. I got it home and spent the next three hours cleaning, shining, polishing, etc. I finally found a broken solder joint on the...

    PRS SE Tremonti

I just bought one the other night - a 2002 model. So far I'm really enjoying it. I've put it into rotation with my other guitars so I will only play it every few days so none of them feel neglected.

New to me Tremonti - and some questions

I picked up an 2002 SE Tremonti yesterday. It's in decent shape but needed some serious cleaning and it looks like I'll be replacing some rusty hardware in the future. In doing a checkout I've found that the tone pot for the bridge pickup has no effect. Also the guitar has a hum that gets...

    Which hardshell case?

I searched but didn't find anything relevant. I just bought a(n) S2 Vela and it only came with a gig bag. I prefer to have a hard case to store and transport my guitars. I don't play in a band so this is just for pleasure. So does anyone know of a decent but not outrageously priced hardshell...

PRS S2 Vela - Egyptian Gold

I have one but I just can't make it sound like the one in the video. Oh wait, I'm nowhere near as good of a guitar player. Sigh.... maybe someday. But get the Vela - it's a great guitar.

    Register guitar on PRS website

I'm interested in this too. I already registered my guitar on the website.

I purchased my first PRS about 1.5 weeks ago - a Seafoam Green Vela. Loving it so far and I haven't pulled any of my Stratocasters out of their cases since I got the Vela home.
