    Sonzera 20 has become noisy

I repaired a Fender Concert recently, that went totally silent after an event like this... upon inspection of the board, all 3 rectifier circuits were blown. I'm betting the gentleman plugged it into an unregulated power supply & got a surprise. Once that & a couple other components had been...

Inlay Materials - Show me yours!

I would get something that stands out, yet still has that abalone/cobalt color present. Paua + outlined in gold or silver would be classy & eye catching, & has hints of a bluish-green in some.

    Sonzera 20 has become noisy

Could be an internal component on the circuit board, such as a resistor, bad solid state rectifier, bad solder job, etc. Send a video to Doug Sewell, the amp designer & state how you've attempted to remedy it. I was going to say replace the effects loop tube with a 12AU7, as that fixes most...

Trying Hard to Like the HDRX20

Add a loop with a high end switching system, short quality cables. Others have had modifications done, to integrate newer technology loops (parallel for older pedals/processors, series/parallel for a mix, & series/buffered high end true bypass & 24-32 bit stuff). This is a retro amp that is...

    My Gibson is just sucking!

All solid advice... best ways to remedy the issue, if you must have a Gibson: 1. A luthiers knot, which pinches the string to the tunning post. 2. If you have some cash, ditch the plastic Green Key tunders & get a great set of Gotoh; locking if you don't like the luthiers knot process. Higher...

    Chipped finish

Stew Mac retails $29.99 for nitro, but I wonder if you could request a laquer sample, like I do with my car when it gets scratched (dealer gives a fingernail polish sized container). My local luthier does this for me; I repaired a 513 with V12, & that was tricky AF, which is why I let it go. I...

    Refinish done at PTC

The extra space for trem movement is always a good call... PTC is the best option for sure. Always better to have the manufacturer work on it, since it came from there.

    S2 singlecut vs S2 594

The S2 is like a studio version of a higher end singlecut... if you're after the sound with some great looks, they can be had new for a great deal cheaper. Then again, might be good to buy the higher end, lightly used; cuts out alot of the initial price.

    Chipped finish

'95 Polyester basecoat and an acrylic topcoat. I prefer nitro, as it melts very nicely into itself for repairs.
