Yep, 25th Anniversary has 5 way rotary, and 57/08 pickups. I got mine second hand, the original owner swapped them out for 59/09 :(
I changed my switching to 3 way + push/pull, much preferred especially for live playing.
Hah! I've got the Charcoal black version of the 25th Anniversary CU24, glad to see how it looks compared side by side. Cream/white still kinda works for covered pickups, but yeah makes the whole guitar look brighter.
I can attest to that. Played nickel all this while: Not much fret wear.
Tried some stainless steel strings: Frets worn a lot after a few sessions of playing. Plus I did not like the sound anyways (of those strings). Back to nickel wound it is.
It's a good thing nickel/gold are quite versatile, ey?
Right, of course! Didn't think of that
Hmm, somehow I think for lighter finishes white or cream is still more suitable. Natural maple will be great! Or, in this case, nickel all the way
The Charcoal Burst is a great colour across the PRS range but does anyone think it looks better with black pickup rings, or is it just me? I'm thinking since the back and sides are solid black, black pickup rings may be more, harmonious, with the rest of the look especially uncovered pickups...
Just had a thought, wouldn't it be cool to see some of these guitars birthed out of drift/reclaimed wood? Unless some of this wood has been cleaned and sanded down already, it will be great to see a Cinderella transformation. From coal to diamond, or in this case, from 'charcoal' to charcoal...
Just asking for clarification, is this thread for showing our guitar collection, or for PRS Collection Series guitars? If it is Collection Series, well... I'll get back to you in a few years time
I may be wrong, but it could be Aqua Violet?
With the newly announced P22 Trem, it may not be too far off... Would be cool to see a HB408 Trem as well!
