Gee who could have predicted these would sell so fast?:D:p
Congratulations to all the new owners. They look awesome and I'm sure they'll be great. Likely to go up in value imho too.
If you could play them back to back it'd be pretty obvious which one is right for you. Literally everything is differenf except the bridge and the pickups.
my point was about those kinds of great deals you were talking about being achievable a couple years ago but they aren't now coz nobody can keep stuff in stock and PRSes back order is so long. The exact specs of the guitar weren't the point.
my dude, the MAP absolutely was $5700. It was a 594 semihollow with quilt artist top, solid IRW neck and a brazillian board. Lots of upcharges there.
see above, they will not have a plain top.
Brazillian boards are getting quite hard to come by, even with PRS who have usually been more liberal with them than others. I just searched Reverb for "594 brazillian" and literally only one listing came up; a 2018 used wood library which is asking $4500 used. And they will probably get it...
No, it's $6550: https://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/products/prs-mccarty-594-singlecut-joe-walsh-limited-edition-1230337
And while some of us are debating whether this guitar is "worth it" or not, I'm sure all 200 will sell out in no time.
EDIT:
BTW $6550 isn't much more than a Wood Library...
The standard finish on the Core guitars (and currently and previously on Private Stock) is a thin layer of nitro over a cellulose acrylic base coat. So the base coat is acrylic, which won't allow enough movement for the top nitro layer to crack. The side effect I found on my 2020 Special...
I'm sure there's "luthiers" out there who would do it for $100. But not everybody has a tech who they are 100% certain is going to do a job as good as the PRS factory (or better), and it also sucks to buy a brand new guitar and immediately ship it to a tech.
