It could also be that something used on it was rancid ... some kind of organic oil gone bad.

Not a grassy smell, a fish oil smell. Actually, I’ve fished the Bahamas a zillion times, and frankly it smells like a dead Barracuda ... yes, they smell different when dead than other fish!

Not to my knowledge. Maybe I will call PRS with the serial number and ask.

Okay, so I have this awesome new McCarty SC 594 10-Top and started noticing a fishy smell every time I pick it up ... I narrowed it down to the fretboard. WTF, are they oiling the fretboard with Omega 3 fish pill oil? I suppose the up-side is, I apparently do not have Covid since I can smell this!

Duncan Antiquities are great (i have them on two LPs and an Albert Lee), if your budget is tighter than that, check out the Duncan Saturday Night Specials ... i put them on a S2 Custom ... really like the result.
