I'm able to get the creamy blue tone from my Sonzera 20 on the clean channel with Lovepedal Amp11 and LP with Classic 57's running around 7 (never dimed).

The Sonzera is a very different amp from much of what’s out there. It seems to play best with single coils and keeping the gain very low on the lead channel, and any time I hear one and like it on the gain channel, it’s someone using it as a slight or moderately pushed amp to play blues leads...

I have the Sonzera 20, but I'll comment anyway. I'm not aware of any reliability issues, and have had none with mine. Plenty of classic rock style drive on the clean channel. The 20 is great IMHO.

I’ve found that I can set the clean channel up to work with my Paul in the same way the Tele works on the Drive channel. Of course my mates think that might be mostly in my head!

I've never played the Custom. I do, however love my Sonzera 20. Like everybody, I love the clean channel, but the secret weapon is the Drive channel. With single coils, keep the gain down under 11:00 and use volume to the room. WOW!

I️ was surprised as well. I️ need to put the foot switch on my pedal board and the attached cable is a hassle.

I use the drive channel on my Sonzera 20 and goose it with BB Preamp for leads. The same setup doesn't work with my DSL 40. With that amp I use the clean channel with drive as high as it will go and goose it with TC Mojomojo OD. Interesting thing is this...when switching between the Tele and LP...

Is it possible to mod the footswitch to utilize a connecting cable to input jack rather than the version supplied with the cable hard wired?

BB Preamp because it plays well with most amps/guitars and other pedals. TC MojoMojo OD because it can get a basic classic rock sound with anything in mere seconds.

The 20 is very much loud enough for small venue gigging. It's actually hard to believe how well the amp projects.

About playing in your bedroom,,,,,,this amp will not sound good in any 'small and must remain quiet' setting. It is very LOUD! As for the drive channel, it sounds absolutely killer in a classic rock/blues setting! I mean KILLER. For me, I am using the drive settin at just under 9:00 with my LP...

I have a footswitch that came with my SE20. I'd like to use it with my Sonzera 20 as it can be affixed to my pedalboard and unplugged from both ends (Sonzera is hard wired to footswitch). Should they be compatible?

My Sonzera 20 is dead quiet on the clean channel with a the expected increase in noise on the gain channel. I agree with the 'check the tubes' advice.
