Thanks for all the responses, guys. Still looking to see if I can find one of the newer ones. For the time being, I decided it was easy and cheap simply to put the old TRC on backwards since the back is plain black. Any other suggestions welcome on where to look!
Hi everyone,
Just curious to see if anyone has done this before. I just picked up a really nice 2011 Hollowbody 2 and am loving it so far. However, I’m not as big of a fan of the old truss rod cover design with the letters “HB-2” in bold white. I was wondering if anyone has ever ordered one of...

Hi Everyone,
I mentioned in a previous thread that I just picked up a 2008 Hollowbody 1 (non-piezo version), and it is quickly becoming one of my favorites. It currently has the stock archtop pickups in it, but as I've heard of others on this board doing, I'm thinking of upgrading to the 57/08...
Wow thanks @Shawn@PRS that is quite telling. Thanks for posting that comparison.
After giving it another few days, I decided to go ahead and order some of the india ink sold on the stewmac website. Don't have much free time on my hands currently, but I'll update when I can. Thanks!
Thanks for the responses, guys. It wasn't my intention to commit to such an intense discussion! I think I'm going to give it a few months of oiling and see how dark that gets the fretboard. I'll make a decision after than, likely sticking with a water based dye if I do follow through with it.
Thanks @Alnus Rubra . Have you ever heard anything about the black fingerboard stain that Stewmac sells? See the link below:

Thanks @Alnus Rubra . I think I likely will sit on the notion for a while and see how I feel a few months into owning it. I'll likely decide then what to do. Good to know, though, that leather dyes are fairly ubiquitous for this application. Any other suggestions on staining materials are...
Thanks for the feedback, guys (and for the compliments). I'm definitely excited to have found it. Yeah, I admit it's a process I am a little hesitant about. I'm also very worried about the concept of using leather dye on a guitar. I guess I was looking to see if there was a reputable solution...
Thanks for the suggestions. Did you do any pre-sanding work before applying the dye? And does it rub off the inlays without any issues? How long to you let it sit before rubbing off the excess?
Thanks. Yeah I am really enjoying it so far. Yes, I've heard that staining is a thing people typically do on some rosewood boards, but wasn't sure if there was a standard approved stain people use. Hopefully someone on the board can lend some insight.
Hi Everyone,
Just recently picked up a 2008 Hollowbody 1, and needless to say, I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far. If I could change anything, though, I think I would like the rosewood on the fretboard to be a bit darker to match the aesthetics of the blue finish.
I've read a lot about people...
Thanks guys. And yes, I did follow through with buying it. Very much looking forward to trying it out. I understand that the Archtop pickups are not designed to be able to split. Has anyone replaced the pickups in their hollowbody with ones that can be split (e.g. 57/08's)?
