I had the same issue when I ordered one from GuitarCenter online. It came and had scratches all over it. I loved the neck and sound so I ended up keeping it but you can tell it probably had been played by 1000 kids on the floor. Now days I only from Sweetwater (even if I have to wait months...
Newer SS have frets the size of 6105. I just got a new 2022 and the frets is soooo much nicer than the tiny ones that I played on before (2019 SS). I say sell your SS and get a 2022 SS.

There are so many things wrong with this guitar that I don't know where to begin.
I have been having the same thoughts as well. I have a 2019 Special 22 (neck pickup is reversed) and was thinking of even making the neck pickup not reversed.
I should have my PRS Dodgem Blue Maple Neck tomorrow. I had ordered from Sweetwater with a date of April 2023 and some miracle they got it in a couple of days ago. Stoked!
