Impossible Task: Pick a Color, Any Color

Is Autumn Sky still an option? My P22 is in that and it looks great in the flesh, though I seem to see it doesn't always photograph as well. As Queen Elizabeth II is the current monarch, that would be the Queen's English. ;)

    Question about Modern Eagle models

I don't know that much about the specs of the various Modern Eagles, or the prices they go for these days, but I agree with WEDGE, Private Stock info would be on the back of the headstock. I have a Leese Golden Eagle and it's PS #2224, dated 26 May 2009 (or 05.26.09 to put it in the US date...

What amp do you play your CE 24 through?

Not sure if it's a viable option where you are, but I do the same sort of playing and have just recently got a Victory Sheriff 22 head with a Victory 1x12 cab. The head is in the lunchbox style and weighs around 6.5 kgs and comes with a carry case, so it's easy to load up and carry about. I'm...

    PRS Model Survey

I have a 2010 McCarty Dallas Shootout and a 2013 P22, which as per OP advice classified as with the Custom 22, but I kinda see it like a McCarty, given the body thickness and Pattern Regular neck, but then it does have the 5 way switching options of the Custom 22. A pic of the McCarty with my...

Howard leese private stock. Nitro question

I've had my Leese Golden Eagle for 6 years now and it hasn't checked, but then I live in the very mild climate of Sydney, Australia. My '74 SG, which I've owned for 34 years shows absolutely zilch signs of checking.

NGD - Howard Leese golden eagle - Number 42

From the nearest to the bridge pickup the controls are Volume/Neck Tone/Bridge Tone. I guess it's much like a Strat really, with the Volume closest to the pickup then the 2 Tone controls.

NGD - Howard Leese golden eagle - Number 42

No worries, g.wizz. Gotta say, the 3 knob layout, which is also shared by my Hamer Sunburst (2 vol, 1 tone), can cause confusion when swapping between the two. Times that I have gone to the Eagle and rolled on the middle knob thinking it's the bridge volume, when in fact it's the neck tone. Doh!!!!

NGD - Howard Leese golden eagle - Number 42

I haven't played a Santana, so I can't make that comparison. The pickups however, are PRS winds replicating the Seymour Duncans in the original Eagle. The bridge is pretty hot, around 12k from memory and the neck is more PAF like at around 7 to 7.5k. There is a thread devoted to the Golden Eagle...

Fantastic guitar, congrats on a great score, and welcome to the club. (I have #88 myself) Going by the tarnishing on the bridge, that's been played a bit too, which is as it should be. Love the flame on it too.

The Keepers Mannin'-Up, Throwin' Down, Thread.

It doesn't get a hell of a lot of playing but enough that I've put the odd ding on it, my Howard Leese/Golden Eagle is a keeper. Wanted one since it was announced, didn't think I'd ever get one, a) because it was a Private Stock and b) because I never thought it would be released Down Under...

In Praise Of The McCarty - "Classic" and "Reissue"

My 2010 Dallas Shootout McCarty which I've had for about 4 and half years now. My second PRS and my first core model (I started with a PS Leese Golden Eagle). This is such a wonderful and versatile instrument, and being a Gibson player primarily, seemed to have that vibe to it's sound, not...

    NDG McCarty content....

Congrats on finding one of these. The don't come up all that often and are a truly wonderful instrument. To give a little bit of information about it, conceived to try and get as close in sound to Paul's own 58 Les Paul Goldtop. I believe a run of 6 was done for the 2010 winter NAMM show, then...

The Official "McCarty 594" Love Thread!!

I dunno.........I was a bit that way myself, a little like with the squabbins and the open backed Phase 3 tuners, but like them it's grown on me in a good way.

I'm very interested but my bank balance may complain. Any idea on the likely landed price Down Under? Feel free to PM me, cheers.
