PRS S2 CU24 warranty covers finish issues?

The first ding always hurts, but thin finishes are delicate. That's an unavoidable fact of life. An Epi has a thick (poly) finish. These are pretty robust and will not scratch and dent as easily. However, thin finishes are considered a premium in today's guitar playing world. Nitro finishes...

    Petition for "PTC Europe"

What would actually help already: Have the distributor here help with the shipping logistics to/from the PTC...?

    S2 Standard 24 Colors

Ok, so PRS Europe says Vintage Mahogany is in stock. Nothing about any limited series or anything. So maybe after all the website is out of date?

    S2 Standard 24 Colors

Definitely not limited to Sweetwater, but may still be a limited run. I've emailed PRS Europe, hope they can help me out... I've had a Mira once in that color, I think it looks great in person. Didn't remind me of furniture at all... ;-) In contrast to its name, I think it looks more...

    S2 Standard 24 Colors

Hi guys, I'm planning to get one of the S2 Standard 24s. I notice that some shops in the US (like Sweetwater) have them in Vintage Mahogany. However, that's not one of colors listed on the website. I'm in Europe and getting one in Vintage Mahogany would be great! So...does anyone one...

Belated NGD: I bought a PRS S2 Standard 24 Surf Green w/ Dot Inlays

    That's what I thought...thanks! With a little woodwork underneath the pickguard it's still possible I guess... :D

Belated NGD: I bought a PRS S2 Standard 24 Surf Green w/ Dot Inlays

Hey, congrats to your new guitar! I'm eyeballing the Standard 24 myself. Just a quick question since you already have pulled the pickguard: How is the routing of the pickups and electronics cavities? I'm asking because it would be cool to make a H/S/H version which would be easy if it's more...

    Self-lubricating nut

Well, for what it's worth I recently had to replace my PRS nut because the D string was too low... I guess that may be an explanation.

    Weird overtone ringing

Ok, just to bring this thread to a happy end: Bought a replacement nut and a set of nut files...replaced the nut and now the ringing is gone! :proud: :D

    Weird overtone ringing

And just in case you're wondering: I did have a sane non-guitar playing person with me who also heard what I'm hearing... :D

    Weird overtone ringing

Found this tip elsewhere: To take the nut out of the equation for a quick check, take the string out of its groove, place it on top of the nut and press it down with a finger to keep it from slipping back in the groove. Did this and while it's more or less completely gone, there still remains a...

    Weird overtone ringing

Ok...after some more digging, I think I may have found the culprit: It looks like the nut slot for the d string has been cut too low. This in turn seems to make the string touch the first fret when the open string is played. And for some reason, this does not manifest itself in rattle or buzz...

    Weird overtone ringing

Well, I set it up a couple of weeks ago...however the truss rod actually required a bit of loosening. The phenomenon has been present before though. I thought about a "singing" truss rod - in case that's what you suspect - but I figured if this was the case it would be frequency dependend and...

    Weird overtone ringing

Hey tech gurus, I have a McCarty (couple of years old) which is 1) a very great guitar :) and 2) a very resonant/lively guitar. Now, most probably due to 2), it is a also very prone to rattling (several screws have been "rattling" loose over time) and other funny noises (e.g. pickup springs...

    swamp ash replacement PUs

I have a McCarty and a Swamp Ash Special. FWIW, I don't think the pickups between the 2 sound radically different. The SAS seem a bit hotter and more "modern" to me, but they're somewhat similar. Actually, I like the McCartys in the McCarty but too am looking for a different sound for the SAS...
