    PRS Wiring Mods Resource Thread

    Question about the McCarty wiring. The older version don't has resistors on the tone pot, while the newest version has. I was wondering if they give the split-coil sound more output? I'm in the process to mod mine to 50's wiring style, so if they make a difference I will take a look at it too.

    I play with this guitar regularly. Last time I put oil on the neck was about 5 months ago, and got to this state in the first picture I’ve posted in that time frame.

    It's always out of the case, but the back of the neck is never exposed directly to sunlight

    Well, the tag says Rosewood neck...nothing more. The fingerboard is indeed way darker, as rosewood should be. Here are some more pictures and the headstock too. I bought the guitar used, about 12 years ago, and I know for sure that the rosewood was darker before, even the headstock. It's darker...

    Hello all! First post here. I own a great 2004 McCarty with a rosewood neck, and it got really pale over time. I guess I should have used some lemon or Fret Doctor oil way before. About a year ago I started using some to give back the darker and smoother look, but it don't stay. I even tried...
