After a brief honeymoon period with the Silver Sky, I just found I wasn’t a fan. The pickups were too microphonic, and I couldn’t get the action to where I wanted (the same measurements as my Standard 22) without buzz.
I DID like the neck shape and feel in general, though.
Has anybody jumped...
Trying to get some opinions on if y'all would buy a Silver Sky SE with a small crack in the neck pocket. Seems to be a solid guitar otherwise, and I can't quite tell if it's a finish crack or through to the wood. It's about an eighth of an inch.
Any thoughts?
Trying to dial in my tone/pedals/POD etc. for my new SE245 (IT's friggin' awesome BTW. I can't believe this thing is an import guitar, and I can NOT believe I bought it for $380.)
Are the new 245 S pickups on the 2017/2018 models mid scooped or mid pushed? Anybody have a Treble Mid Bass measure...
Well! I'm going to go with the SE. Right now, with money being a bit tight, I think it's a safe bet. Plus later on, a great platform to mod. This russian dude's review helped:
No clue what he's saying but it sounds awesome.
Yes! I should mention I have played them both. I really can't decide. They are both good in their own merits. I'd say the S2 is probably a "better" guitar (whatever that means), but the SE is such a steal it's hard to turn down.
Looking at two options from a friend of mine who is looking to consolidate and get a core model:
1. Mint 2018 SE 245, $380
2. Slightly Used 2016 S2 Standard 22, $700
Which would you rather have and why?
Hello! I just picked up a DGT treble pickup second hand to put in my LP studio. Quick question on wiring. It has Black, Braided ground, and White. Is white only for tap? Can I tape it off?
Thanks!
Looks just like my Tele... I'll get a DGT some day. I just couldn't pass up the S2 for $650. It should fill the PRS void for me for a bit until I can sock away some extra cash for the DGT.
Alright!! I decided on a less expensive option - just picked up a 2015 S2 Standard 22 for $650. I think it was a good deal - very clean. Will update with pics when it gets here!
