Zach Myers SE - Control cavity plates not recessed

They added the veneer to the headstock and binding to the neck and body. I'm thinking that had to add considerable build time, no?

MIK ones were the best. Superb matching on the neck and back. Recessed control covers. I’ve owned probably close to 10 thru the years. MIK certainly are better constructed. The only issue may be the nut. The nut material and cuts are typically better in newer ones.

Yeah I've noticed this on all the newer SE models. Don't like it one bit. How much more effort is it to have the CNC route this.

I agree, I haven’t been terribly impressed with the Indonesian made ones. MIK were much better, but I’m sure it came down to the labor costs.

2021 SE CU24-08 MII with surface plates

Fortunately for me it really doesn’t bother me and I enjoy playing both, I think the workmanship is pretty damned good on both too - they make me want to play and bring a smile to my face and that’s good enough for me…. For now… I’m already eyeing Core models
