Weather Gage and a Chunk of Maple

I found this old weather gauge, but I could never figure out how to mount it. Then I realized it would fit almost perfectly in an input jack hole, so I got a chunk of scrap wood (2.5" think Birdseye maple) and created this giant meat thermometer.
