Walter Becker...R.I.P.

He and Fagen kept the weirdness in my music in the '70s, which I desperately needed. By 'weird' I mean jazz.

RIP, Walter. Great player, great sense of humor. Glad I got to see him a few years back. Strangely enough, sitting in the lobby waiting for the show, my daughter texted me the news of Robin Williams' death.

Very sad. Especially since I am in the middle of getting ready to play a number of Steely Dan songs in public for the 1st time. Had no idea he was in ill health. A really big loss to the music community.

A very sad loss indeed. Steely Dan was a big influence on me musically while growing up in the 70s. While I am happy to hear that Donald Fagen will be carrying on with the Dan, it's just not the same without Walter.

Man, this sucks. One of my favorite axemen and one of my favorite bands. 67 is just too young anymore. RIP, Walter.
