I have a McCarty 594 that I've owned for a year or so. I've loved the guitar since day one, and it's become my favorite humbucker guitar to play. it was made a little before the change over to the more recent bridge with the triangle shaped saddles, so it had the "block" saddles. It sounded great, but compared to my Gibsons there was always a little something in the note attack of the high mids that the 594 lacked.
Recently I was able to get my hands on one of the bridges with the triangle shaped saddles and put it on my 594. Even though it's a small change the note attack I felt like I was missing is there now. It just seems a little more "crisp" and articulate. My Gibson R9 is getting pretty lonely.
Thanks for Paul for constantly striving to take the guitars to the next level!
