Since there seems to be a lot of "favorite" threads going on (guitarists, influences, songs, guilty pleasure) I thought I'd add one of my favorite games.

If your house was on fire and you had time to grab 5 albums (cassettes, CDs), that you could not live without, what would you grab? Same game but different name is if you were deserted on an island...

Badlands - Badlands
Blue Murder - Blue Murder
Shawn Lane - Powers of Ten
Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory
Haken - The Mountain

Blind Faith
Free - Fire and Water
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Second Helping
Queen - Sheer Heart Attack
ZZ Top - Rio Grande Mud

Bob Marley and the Wailers - Talkin' Blues (or Songs of Freedom box set, hard decision)
Joe Bonamassa - Live at the Hammersmith Appollo
Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Pearl Jam - Ten
Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Nine Inch Nails - The Fragile
Ash - Nu-clear Sounds
Sonic Youth - Sister

Well ........... first off, if the house is on fire and I got time to grab five CDs ......... I'm not going to, I'm going to grab my HBII, hopefully without turning into a human S'more.( recorded music is too easy to obtain these days, so it's unimportant)

but just to play along ....

Return to forever-anthology
Grover Washington Jr-anthology
Santana-definitive
The best of Chaka Khan
Aja Steely Dan

Even though I keep everything on my phone with backups in a few other classified and undisclosed locations, I would not leave the house without

Marillion - Script For a Jesters Tear
Marillion - Fugazi
Marillion - Misplaced Childhood
Marillion - This Strange Engine
Jesus Christ Superstar - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack featuring Ted Neeley

Or at least die trying

Earth Wind and Fire Greatest Hits vol. 1
Best of Sade
Barry White greatest hits
Friday Night in San Francisco
and Bad Brains I Against I or Slayer Seasons in the Abyss so I can clear out a nice space in the tent city I’ll be moving into.

not sure if anyone here will like these alternative rock albums....but here goes;

The Smashing Pumpkins - Melon Collie & Infinite Sadness
Nirvana - Nevermind
Foo Fighters - The Color and the Shape
Weezer - Blue Album
Pearl Jam - Vs.
(H.M. / Green Day - American Idiot & Stone Temple Pilots - Core)

FTR.....I do like and grew up with classic rock but the above listed albums just spoke to me more as a player, but here is some classic rock albums that would be the ones I grab during that fire....

Led Zeppelin - IV
Queen - News of the World
The Scorpions - Blackout
Guns & Roses - Appetite For Destruction
Metallica - Black Album

I can’t even think about picking a top five. The best I can do is name five that pop into my mind as being good to listen to.

Thriller, Michael Jackson
Supernatural, Santana
21, Adele
Running on Empty, Jackson Brown
Storyville, Robbie Robertson

Songs in the Key of Life - Stevie Wonder (I know it’s cheating ‘cos it’s a double, but I’m classing it as one)

Steely Dan - Live in America (Babylon Sisters “Ya gotta shake it baby, ya gotta shake it baby, ya gotta shake it!)

James Taylor - New Moon Shine (track 12 The water is wide. Made my mother cry when I played it for her)

Bryan Adams - Reckless (soundtrack to my all too tame youth)

Peter Gabriel - So (Blood of Eden - with Sinead O’Connor)

Bob Marley and the Wailers - Talkin' Blues (or Songs of Freedom box set, hard decision)
Joe Bonamassa - Live at the Hammersmith Appollo
Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Pearl Jam - Ten
Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet

Bonamassa grew up about 2 blocks from where I was living back in the early 90's. I remember seeing him when he was still a 16yr old phenom.

Beatles - White Album
Beatles - Revolver
Zeppelin II
The Police - Greatest Hits
The Cult - Hidden City

Rush...Permanent Waves...Clockwork Angels.
Queen...Live Killers...Night at the Opera
Jeff Beck ...Live at Ronnie Scott's
Crack the Sky...White Music
