I agree. Might be fun to see if the joint can be repaired and withstand the stress of the strings. I would not invest that much to find out however.
 
Heck I’d pay $299 just to say I owned one of Pete Townsends guitars.

Someone will probably fix it and it'll go on to be one of the best sounding guitars of all time. Seems to be how that happens.

My goldtop didn't seem to want to stay in tune yesterday....that can be very dangerous for a guitar.

I'm guessing that S2 had some similar issues.
