What are the tubes in a Sonz. 20w Combo, and where can they be purchased?

Thanks,

Max Bob

I do not want to take a sale away from PRS, but the tubes in this amp are fairly generic.

V1 12AX7, Common Input Gain Stage
V2 12AX7AC5, Gain Channel
V3 12AX7AC5, Reverb
V4 12AX7AC5, Phase Inverter

Power Stage 2 x 6L6GCMS

The tube designations 12AX7AC5 and 6L6GCMS appear to belong to Ruby. These tubes are Chinese (Shuguang) manufacture instead of being from a former Soviet factory. V1 is actually a JJ ECC83, which is a 12AX7 that is manufactured by JJ Electronics in Slovakia. All of these tubes are available from multiple sources (just Google the desired tube designation). It appears that the Sonzera 20W has a fixed-bias power stage; therefore, it is not a "cram and jam" amp like a cathode-biased amp. If you replace the power tubes, the amp will need to be re-biased. It is not a difficult task, but it does require knowing how to use a multi-meter as well as how to properly handle a tube amp. The capacitors in the power supply can hold a charge for a long time unless the design includes bleeder resistors, and we are talking about hundreds of volts DC. Here is the manual: http://www.prsguitars.com/documents/PRS_Sonzera_Amp_Manual.pdf
