Show yer Paul's Guitar thread

Two things........can anyone tell my why my pics uploaded yesterday and visible then from photobucket have crapped out on me ? I looked up the P500 fix.......sadly I don’t speak computer very well and have no idea what you do with the very little information (link) given to rectify the issue. Where do you put that link ? I’m hoping / guessing others members on here will have already encountered this and can help me out. Cheers in advance.* I’ll be sure and edit paragraph out once my pics are proudly on display again.

More importantly..........I don’t know how you use your Paul’s guitars but I like mine for HEAVY STUFF. But it seems most PRS people probably wouldn’t use the PRSZ I’ve chosen, a Paul’s obviously and a couple of 513’s for high gain stuff necessarily. That’s what Custom 24’s, Tremonti’s, Holcomb’s and the like are for.

Well this is my fav PRS Paul’s Guitar video & I think it deserves a place in the thread to show another facet of this most glorious member of the PRS family (next to the 513) to perspective owners........and who doesn’t love Rabea of Anderton’s and Chappers fame. Enjoy !

Are you paying Photobucket for whatever fee they are now charging? I few months back they decided to charge an annual fee to be able to link photos to places like forums. Most of the folks here have moved to Flickr or Imgur.

Alnus Rubra,

Before becoming a cultured member of the PRS Owners club, I thought they were all shred guitars.
I think the “Paul’s Guitar” certainly appears to have been made and marketed to cater primarily to the Blues / Rock / Jazz players over the Heavy Rock / Shredders. I myself never intended to use my Paul’s or though it suited for the style of music for which I’m now primarily using it? I’m just singing it’s praises and hope people don’t overlook this model because they think they may not be as versatile or as adept at high gain stuff as other Core models. This thread is only three pages after all. The pick-up’s are certainly up to the task. The only negative for the die hard metal type guy that I could see is that they are only 22 frets.

Of course there’s never any set rules in the guitar world. Billy Duffy and Ol’ Ted Nugent among many others broke all the rules long ago with fully hollow guitars and I’m seeing more and more players in local metal type bands wielding things like “F” Jag’s, Jazzmasters and the like.

Interesting video on Andertons you tube page, where Rabea uses a Gretsch jazz style guitar for shredding. I get your point.

I've been wanting another guitar with a tremolo, so I've had my eye on the lookout for Santana for the last couple of years.
in the PRS 594 is absolutely amazing, and I seem to cover a fair amount of Santana on that guitar. but then Rabea's video really caught my eye, anybody else notice how this guitar sounds a fair amount like some Eddie Van Halen strong rubbery midrange where the notes are extremely flexible to pick attack. so I thought the Santana would be very similar sounding the guitars I already have, it is a very nice idea to have multiple guitar tones.

so once I got the bug that PRS sickness. there will be a, new guitar day NGD a blue guitar day, faded blue jeans guitar day.

this one is certainly an oddball, Very unique in the way the mahogany neck absorbed the stain, I like the green and blue stained mahogany backs in general, so I decided that I really like the fact that the two pieces of mahogany totally absorb the stain differently. but mainly I could not resist that blue quilt. on such a fantastic leading musical instrument I'm sure it's going to be great. I'm already wondering if I need to upgrade to the generation III tremolo, as this is a brand-new 2014 model it's been sitting in its case for over four years, nobody likes the oddball green neck. which is actually the blue stain,
here are the webpage screen captures. incoming ! Honduran rosewood fretboard dirty artist quilt top, 8.0 pounds, faded blue Jean, this also has the V 12 finish, which I guess you can't get anymore discontinued. they also said back in 2014 Paul hand selected all the woods for each of these guitars,? I wonder if that's really true?

Paul’s guitar. Literally. This one has a Pernambuco neck.

Are these early implementations of the Phase III tuners? If I'm thinking right, aren't the mounting screws off-set now? Not that it makes any difference, of course....just an observation.

That's sweet! I would do this one!

Repost because of PB....

I have a Faded Vintage Yellow PG with a trem. I love it. It has a cool sound, looks amazing, and feels different than my other guitars. I am happy mine has the "natural binding" too...

I use it live. Originally, I got it for studio work - but I find that I prefer the "single coil" tones in a live environment more than on a recording. In the end, I am happy to have it - even though it hangs in the case more than not.
