evidently, the world has a population of seven billion, give or take.
if a survey was done that asked three billion of those people.
how would you answer, if the question was ...
when i say the name "Lennon," who comes immediately to mind.
... John, or like, you know, Lenin.
i'm with John.

You would assume it would be "Lennon", but geography would have to come into play and you might get more "Lenin" than hoped for...

Depends if this was a verbal poll or written. Written is a dead give-away (if you had a 6th grade command of the English language). Verbal...like Toothace said...could be subject to cultural influences.

Yes, it is only a question of interest verbally.
I do think most slices of the earth would come of with John.
I have no idea to what degree Lenin is credited for China’s economic model in the general population, but that is the only path I see to a large geographic tendency in that direction.

There was that classic Firesign Theater album, “How Can You Be Two Places At Once When You’re Not Anywhere At All” featuring Marx (Groucho) and Lennon (John) on the cover...

Someone will come along and post a picture of it.

Imagine if you asked communist leaders like Lenin questions about popular culture....
