Not to start an argument, and in theory I see your point. I upgraded pots, caps, and the switch on an Ibanez AR model that was an import. I did hear a change for the better. Not dramatic, but I could head a change. I owned two of the same model, just different colors that I could listen to side by side. The difference was not dramatic, but there was a difference. Before the change, they sounded identical.

That's probably due to different component values between old and new but who knows.
