P22 pickup question

Hey guys

I remember reading a post that has info on when PRS stopped installing 53/10 pups on the P22, been searching the forum and just can't find it

my question is, the hang tag on my P22 has an assembly date of 01/17/13 and the pickup fields show them as P22 TM, the info on the web page where I purchased it stated 53/10 for the pickups

so, how do I know if I have 53/10s without taking them off?

also, my P24's hang tag is supposed to have 57/08s installed and the hang tag reads P22 (3/20/14 assembly date)

any input would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem and same questions. My P22 is also a 2013 model. The webpage where I purchased mine also stated 53/10 for the pickups. But I did an extensive search and it seems like I have a set of 57/08s. In your case, your guitar being assembled January 2013, I would feel there's a possibility of it having 53/10s...

I could be wrong on this, but I don't think PRS started referring to the pickups as P22 TM til after the 53/10 were gone? I would guess 57/08s.

The reason I ask is because my P22 and my P24 trem sound REALLY different, I know there are many differences in construction between them so I want to know if the pickups are different too

It looks like I'm going to have to take the pickups off next string change and take a look

I hope they're not marked as P22 though!

I have a late 2012 P22 and had the same questions. I was advised by customer service without equivocation that 2012 models are uncovered 53/10 and 2013 are 57/08.
