Quick question for everyone. I just received my first PRS (NGD to come soon). It's a 1996 so the bridge has that aged finish on it. I can't decide whether to leave it or polish it up. So please help me make up my mind. Leave the 21 year age or shiny and new?

Have to see the rest of it to tell if it matches.

Well the strap buttons are the same but the tuners are nice and shiny. Frets have same aged finish but those are getting polished.

Tough call... I suppose you could polish it and then play it until it gets worn again. It might be better if it was your dirt.

I'd buff it, but leave some evidence of the age around the edges maybe.

When you polish it some of the underlying brass may show thru it a look I like :)

It's sounding like I'm going to put a shine on it. Thanks for the help.

Are you going to leave the tuning in standard? Is there no rust? If the answer to both of these questions is yes, I say leave it.

No rust. I use drop D every now and then.

I'd probably leave it. It will go that way again anyway.

    WINGS! WINGS! WINGS!

Polish if it feels crudy and then add your own crud.
Or, if it feels smooth, leave it.

Another thumbs up for the Blue Magic. It'll shine up, but will still have some patina.
