First off, I would like to thank you so much for paying tribute to a fallen warrior. A real tragedy.
I am a boxing fan, former welterweight (US army), and I watched that very fight. It broke my heart, Buddy McGirt's, and the victorious fighter that was devastated by the outcome. It was one of the only times in my life that I questioned myself on viewing the damage these athletes endure for the sport that they (and I) love.
Musically it's somber but has a hopeful flavor to it, it seems like more of a tribute to Max in feeling than a statement on Buddy stopping the fight. That (in my mind) would have a more serous sound.
So which is it?
- a sad thing for the loss of a young life?
- a statement on the dangers of the fight game?
- a tribute to Max?
Again, thanks for making a statement for these brave men & women that risk their lives every time they step in the ring.
