Hey guys, I'd like to identify the type of rosewood this fretboard is made of and don't really want to pull the pickup for a peak at the MODCAT... Surely someone here is good with this kinda thing, so your opinions would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks in advance for any help!!!

Start off by telling us the type and the year. May be something can be ruled out.

Looks like East Indian to me, Jon.

What is the model and year?

Oops, it is a 1996 Custom 22. I was thinking the same thing Hans, but hoping for an outside chance at Brazilian... Thanks guys!

Only one way to know for sure, my brother. ;)

Well, now that I think about it, I'm not sure the MODCAT was in place in 1996 so pulling the pup might not get you any more info. Judging from the year and model, I think it's safe to say that it's EIRW.

If it is a production model (not a limited edition) from 1996, it would have an Indian rosewood board.

ps- The MODCAT system as we know it today did not come into existence until October-ish 1999
