Hello all. I recently got my SE Lifeson. Incredible guitar and I love it. I took it on one acoustic and one full band gig (which I ended up not playing it)

Anyway I take it out of the case and the fretboard has these dark spots all over it.

What gives?

Any suggestions?

This is my favorite fretboard conditioning product. It's made with lemon oil and is so convenient to use. I buy these by the box.

Q few questions, possibly completely irrelevant:

Was the guitar stored in the case a long time, or just "overnight"?

Are you using the OHSC from PRS?

What are your local climatic conditions? i.e. is it exceptionally damp or dry right now? has it changed much recently?

Have you ever had problems with strings corroding faster than other people? Do your hands sweat much as you play? (Might indicate a personal skin pH type issue that the guitar doesn't like.)

I notice the guitar has no strings on it. Have you been cleaning the fretboard with something other than lemon oil / Pledge?

Just tossing ideas out there.

I'd try the lemon oil thing first.
