Heart or Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Go!

People like what they like, and some folks like Joan Jett a LOT better than Heart. So, it's not about who you like to listen to more than the other. From an objective, musicianship standpoint there's really no comparison. Heart is leaps and bounds better at the musicianship aspect of things.

Somebody earlier described Joan Jett as punk. I think that's close. She's thrash and punk and loud and fast and "in your face". That may be the style that excites you. That's great!!

This is a little like comparing Yes and the Ramones.

Heart. Great songs. Great music. Incredible voice. Better versatility.

All of Joann's stuff that I've ever heard all sounds the same, which is fine if you like her music.

When I was in high school (when these two groups were popular), I figured if I ever took my girlfriend to both of these shows and got back stage, the Wilson sisters might pay attention to me while Joan would probably pay more attention to my girlfriend (which would be ok too!). FYI, my girlfriend looked a lot like Pat Benatar. Wait, what are we talking about again?
