It was inevitable that 'fakes' will appear. The safest way to avoid buying fakes is to buy from a reputable dealer. However, there will always be some that will buy a 'fake' because they are 'posers'. They cannot be anything else when paying cheap money to buy a fake just because they want the name on the headstock instead of paying 'similar' money for brands like Harley Benton, Epiphone and/or Squire.
If they really cared about the 'Brand', then they would buy from that brand instead of giving their money to the fakers. As far as I am aware, its illegal to sell fake items so anyone that does buy 'fake' are stuck with it or risk breaking the law in selling it on. Its just money down the drain so to speak. At least real brand guitars are an asset, something that has 'value'.
