Al opened for Santana at the 1980 Merriweather Post show that Paul talks about when he brought a guitar for Carlos to try. I was also lucky to be there. Not sure but I think Carlos played Pauls' prototype that nite, and I do remember Carlos had his back to the audience most of the show, which seems logical if he was playing a guitar for the first time. Al was blistering I do remember that. Man, it was heavy.
