Are the 8515s in the 30th cu24 3 wire?


I have 2 sets but they have the coil tap wire and are out of Ce24s.

Can you make the pickups I have work with 5 way or rotary since there is main wire, coIL tap wire and braided shield?

just exploring all my possibilities.

5909s and 5310s are my favorite pickups, sadly I'm falling out of love with 5708s. I sure hope 8515s make the grade!

You'd definitely have to flip the magnet in one of them, which is easy, but I suspect trying to use the braided wire as a conductor will result in shorts to ground. Maybe if you wrapped the whole thing in electrical tape? It's worth a try.

Hey Gush
Do you have Red , White , Black and shield ?? if so that is normal PRS wiring
PRS does a standard coil flip in there wiring ( not really flipping the mag ) just reverse wiring
I have had some that are Red , Black Shield and a white ( separate wire coil tap )

The 8515s I'm referring to are not 3 wire. They are like my Mccarty pickups hot wire separate white tap wire and braided soldered to ground.

I didn't think about wire configuration since they are in the 30th custom 24 as well. I just assumed they were going to be 3 wire.
