My satin nitro 53/10 limited has a few dings and marks. It's also not very satin anymore in most places that get touched. I would say it's definitely transitioning into 'player grade'

Do you use a fairly decent length of cable? Do you have other guitars with a treble bleed cap on the volume? It could be that even with the volume on full the treble bleed cap on the volume is letting treble through whilst the capacitance of the cable/your setup is taking off some of the bass...

It certainly is. When he got the diagnosis in October he was hoping to get a few more years with treatment, but I guess it was just too late. And he's been in so much pain with the tumors pressing on nerves and in all his bones that it's hard not to see this as a blessing

The core prs 500k pots have a taper I like too. Even got one in my Strat. I find the treble bleed affects the taper at the other end of the scale - where the volume comes on very quickly to start. Haven't noticed anything around the full up
