    PRS CE Models 00's 10's 20's Comparisons?

The new ones are not the same quality, more like S2s or SEs. I like my one S2, but it's not in the same class as the older 'cores' I have.

    PRS CE Models 00's 10's 20's Comparisons?

Guess I'll just have to pony up and them both. LOL Waiting for answers to a question or two but leaning trem... better shape, more attractive, has OHSC and candy. The stoptail is a bit beat, replacent PIII tuners (extra holes) and ships in a generic gig bag, only a tiny bit cheaper.

    PRS CE Models 00's 10's 20's Comparisons?

Well... the only justification I have now is loving guitars and wanting another variation of PRS. I lean towards the trem model as well, especially as it's a beautiful trans cherry red, kinda what I always think of as an original-style PRS. I also missed out on an 88 Special very recently in...

    PRS CE Models 00's 10's 20's Comparisons?

2 hesitations... 1. I really like the way the trem bridge sits on PRSi even if I never use them 2. Is there enough if a tone difference between a 'hog CE and my Standard 22?

There's also '98 mahogany stoptail ce22 for sale as well. I think I can get either for close to the same price... can't decide.

    PRS CE Models 00's 10's 20's Comparisons?

Thanks all. I think I misconstrued some of the earlier posts.

    PRS CE Models 00's 10's 20's Comparisons?

Is there a year in particular when the CE22 went from Core-level quality production to whatever it is now? Or what to look for? I'm looking at what looks to be a nice one from 2006 with what looks to be a plain mahogany body. Love to grab it, but I wouldn't be able to try it first.

    Older vs. Newer McCarty

Interesting. I need to listen to some clips on all these PRS pickups.

    Older vs. Newer McCarty

It'll be shipped, so I can't check it out, unfortunately, but the pictures all look good. All of my Core's were bought sight unseen and the quality was excellent, I figure worst case scenario I send it back.

    Older vs. Newer McCarty

Good to know. If they come with multiple conductors, that's an easy enough mod.

    Older vs. Newer McCarty

Hi All, Still thinking about a McCarty, as per my first post. Actually turned up an interesting one, a '94 with handwritten 'McCarty Model" in a nice and 'different' color scheme: scarlet with a black, may not always be a painted black fan but I do like the non sunburst top. Price is very...

Does a McCarty bring -more- to the table?

Speaking of pickups, today is a massive soldering day for me... As to all those varieties, the only thing I've actually heard as 85/15S.... -My most recent is the '09 Custom with stock HFS and Vintage Bass. Funny enough, my first 'good' guitar was a Warmoth build by my uncle who installed an...

    Introduce yourself!

LOL. The 'RuralTom' handle was initially meant to be ironic, from my very first email account when I was living in NYC. Fast forward a few years from there and the irony was long gone, I live an hour south of Pittsburgh, a bit north of the Mason-Dixon, fairly rural and most of my non-guitar...

Does a McCarty bring -more- to the table?

I've been looking at them, also have a possible trade working on a Stripped '58 that could prove interesting. The toggle on the upper horn throws me off a little, literally the only thing I dislike about LPs.

    Introduce yourself!

Hi All! Tom here from Southwestern PA. I only noticed the 'introduction' thread after my first post, but figured I'd say hi, maybe a little more background than I put into that post. I started playing around the same time as the original production line at PRS, circa '85. My mentor and...
