I have one SE. A Hollowbody 2 piezo that I bought right when they came out. The fretwork is better than all of my buddies high end LPs, Fenders, Suhrs etc. It's just as good as good as my 21 vela.
My buddy got a SE Silver sky about a month ago and he literally slit his finger open sliding down...
I just had mine soldered back on. I was using duct tape for about a year. I changed the battery 4 times before the wires snapped. I expect them to snap again when I need to change the battery.
You can't even be delicate with it because the battery is SO tight in the holder.
A quick google search showed me players like Eddie, Vai, Satch, Yngvai use 9s and even 8s.
Players like Anastasio,Garcia, Mayer use 10s.
My take away is that hippie shredders are physically stronger than metalhead shredders lol.
I have 2 PRSs. An SE Hollowbody II Piezo, and an S2 Vela semi hollow satin. I love both but if I something crazy happened and I could only save one... It would be the Vela. Mostly because it fits in the mix with other musicians so well, ALWAYS.
And my SE plays freaking smooth and is really...
I did. Another guitarist I play with has a soldering iron. Fixed it in 2 minutes. If we had more time that night, he had another idea. So when it happens again, which it will, he's going to add some relief and put little sleaves that will fit over the connectors so i can pull them off when...
I'm a gigging drummer for the past 35ish years(I'm 52 for reference). I learned open chords on the guitar like 30 years ago. Got decent at simple songs for a few years then got busy with kids, work and gigging so guitar was shelved. I picked it back up around 2019 and started leaning the caged...
Right on top of the battery compartment. Small piece of duct tape. I have to jump thru hoops to post pictures on this forum.
I'm going to take mine to a luthier and have them add some sort of relief and solder it up for me. But the tape works and it's been well over a year so I'm not in a rush.
I love my vela. I play drums for several bands and sit in with many more. We rehearse at my house alot. Every single guitar player asks to play my vela. What I've found is it makes good players sound really good. And it makes sloppy players sound really sloppy. Every note(good or bad) is...
When I first got my SE HB2P I switched over to 11/52s after 3 months or so. I played them for a month and realized I preferred the 10/46s. The piezo tone wasn't that much better if better at all.
Congrats on the guitar I love it still.
Might depend on how good the players in the band are. Some guys I'll play thru pain for. Some guys... the moon and stars need to align.
In all seriousness tho, I do hope your drummer is OK.
If mine gets stolen or something like that, I'd re buy the same. Satin white SH.
They have a different neck pickup now tho. I'm sure it's awesome but it is definitely different.
