Thanks . I use dark 11s like Elixir .. And then if I get one of the PRS Pickups that split into single coil ' fatter' I could use a tiny bit of gain for that sound also ... I might try flats if I get that guitar ...

I am here on this forum because I noticed in the demos of the Hollowbody SE 2 Piezo that the guitar was sounding extremely good punching above it's weight and learning more about it / to possibly get one for myself . I am used to 14" radius fingerboards but I love the hollow except the block...

You mean the kind of dark in a good way that the plywood can sound ?

Is it hollow enough to get Benson /Norman Brown type cleans on Neck PU - on demos it really does not sound like a budget guitar - they overshot their mark [ shhhh ] lol. I like what you said in this mini description .

Hey Robin - did this guitar get dark and thick enough for a Martino type clean tone ? I am actually wondering if on that guitar or the SE Holowbody II - I could get in the ballpark of Benson/ Norman Brown type cleans ?

BUT - IF you actually PLAY 2 Guitars 25" scale length same strings and 1]one has a Stoptail Bridge 2]one has strings going all the way through body . No trems, same strings , same hands - same headstock Angle , neck pitch etc etc..you may need 2 Carvins to try it for exactness of the 2 models...

Thanks shinksma for the clarification on the thickness of the Hollybody 1 vs. JA 15.. This explains what I have been hearing. I always loved Benson and was ' hearing ' in my mind those type of lines but a little wilder ..and a little Vibrato .. I have only been able to actually play this way...

Yes listening to Demos..I do not hear the same response from other Guitars that I hear on the Neck sound of the JA 15. Unfortunately almost NO ONE ever makes Set Neck Resonant 25.5" scale Guitars and many People think or are conditioned to think that the 50's and 60's Electrics were...

Really Nice Playing - especially on Affirmation...! You are a Bad Man- lol. You really sound great on Affirmation. Is Affirmation the JA 15 ? Funny you mentioned that $2000 Ceiling price..there are some really good sounding Semis from Ibanez etc.. And you can get a LOT for 2K. I may just try...

$2000. is Good for this Model... I wish it didn't sound so darn good in the neck so I could get something cheaper lol. Does it have the slightly cooler than Benson sound in the Neck like on the Paul Jackson Vids and I have heard great Overdrives from it too that would be great for Fusion...

I appreciate your description- I just became aware of the JA 15 - possibly the best sounding under the Radar Guitar I have heard ...ever. I hear a tiny bit more Bottom on JA15 but more importantly I also hear that it has much more Sustain and singing quality AFTER the attack..so hard picking...
