I came across some lubricant by accident one day and thought I’d get some to try on my guitar and what a difference it made. I just put a tiny little dab of it in the string slots in the nut and can now use the bar as much as I want and the thing just stays in tune. It’s called, “Carbon Honey”...
Has anyone here tried removing a trem spring from the block on your Silver Sky? I was trying to remove a spring because I put a .009 gauge set of strings on this time and I just wanted to loosen the tension on the bridge. My goodness, I absolutely couldn’t get the spring to come out and just...
That’s a beautiful guitar! I know what you mean because I’ve been playing for 38 years now and I got a core silver sky last April and it’s the first guitar I’ve ever gotten that is perfect in every way. Perfectly done frets, super smooth rolled edges fretboard with absolutely no fret sprout...
I'm probably way too late to comment on this old thread but it's supposed to be that way per this page at https://support.prsguitars.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408309544091-PRS-Silver-Sky-Tremolo
I didn’t fully float it. Mine is just loosened a little but it’s so much better now. If anything mine sounds better. When decked my third string at the 14th fret A note produced a dead note. I was really upset about that because for a $2800 guitar to have a dead note is just crazy. Now that the...
Same here. I played mine for a few months before finally floating the bridge just a bit. I tried to remove a spring but it wouldn’t come out. On my next string change I went to a set of 9s and loosened the trem claw springs just a little. The guitar plays so much better now. Just like you said...
I bought a SS a little over a month ago. I really REALLY like it and play it every single day but that price was hard to pay. If I hadn’t had 3 guitars to sell I couldn’t have done it. The way the economy is these days this may be my last new guitar ever.
I agree. A pick makes a lot of difference in tone. Even playing with the tip of the pick or gripping it backwards and using the backside of the same pick changes the sound quite a lot.
I got my new Silver Sky yesterday evening and played it until bedtime. My fingers are kind of sore! I really REALLY like this guitar and will post some pictures later today. Oh, I only slept about 5 1/2 hours because I woke up thinking about that Silver Sky and couldn't go back to sleep. I'm...
That one is beautiful! My swamp ash special had 3 NarrowField pickups. I think it was my favorite guitar I’ve ever had. I was such a mistake to sell it. I wish I still had it.
