unfortunately, no one can answer this question for me, since it comes from an estate as described. From a German Silver Sky user, however, I got the answer that his frets look the same after moderate play and he considers that normal.

Yeah, if it is available used in germany I will try the set, seems to be more tamed. And the USA VB sounds VERY similar to the S2 VB, so I don´t think there will be a difference in sound quality.
