    2 channel h w/ 5881 tubes

Now I pulled the 5881's & replaced w/ a used pair of JJ 6l6 that were stash. Set bias @ 34ma. Also replaced a 12ax7 w/ a 12at7 that was supposed to be there. The JJ's sound very lush, fuller, & sparkly right through. The beauty of the H, IMHO , is that it sounds really good @ lower volumes...

    2 channel h w/ 5881 tubes

Rider & Les; Im curios to know if you tried 5881 in your h & hxda respectively, or other tubes for comparison, & what differences in character you have observed. It's a good feeling to find a certain tube type or brand, that makes your favorite amp sound even better. Still can't believe the way...

    2 channel h w/ 5881 tubes

Yikes! Almost sold my 2ChH :O

Same here. Turned my attention to a Fuchs bj21 mk2, & a Dr.z maz18. Didn't play the H for a little while, decided to put it on the bay. Didn't sell...thankfully. Set it back up, now it sounds waaay better than the other 2. Trying to think of an analogy, can't. Good for you Les!

    Stringing the tremolo

Yep; thanks, I did that, works great. I was thinking all that was needed was a spacer. Cut the ball ends off the old strings, see if they slide all the way down the new string over the wrap, then hopefully they fit all the way into the trem. block hole. Beautiful! Only needed them on 4 strings.

    Stringing the tremolo

Hi; 1st thread, thanks for having me! Just did a setup on my 93 ce24. Ernie ball slinky 10s. After threading new strings through the trem block, the wrap coming off the ball is too long, the string doesn't break clean and sit flush to the front of the saddle. It sits up on the extra wrapping...
