    Swap 85/15?

I think the 85/15s are the only regular sized PRS pickups in any of my PRSi. I also briefly tried replacing them in my Custom 22 Piezo with a set of BKP pickups and lasted a week or so before going back to the 85/15s. For me they work with everything I play. I have both the original 58/15s and...

    Private Stock Friday

I haven't seen that, and it's very cool. And how cool would that concept have been with the Australian animal inlays. Over the top :)

    Private Stock Friday

I’m glad you’re enjoying my creativity. It really turned out better than what I thought it would And close Shawn, it’s: Kangaroo - because it doesn’t get anymore Australian than that. Tasmanian Devil - they are actually about to get instinct on Tasmania with a deadly face tumour spreading so...

    58/15 LT Questions

Thanks to some inspiration from this thread, I did the switch yesterday and put The Mules in my P245 SH and Abraxas in my 594 DC and I think that's a better overall combination. The Mules in the P245 SH are great. I think I actually do like The Mules better in all those guitars though. Time to...

    58/15 LT Questions

I’m not a big fan of the RR. I bought them when I had an SG a few years back for that Angus vibe and that was pretty cool. I’ve been trying out a few pickups in different guitars and for me, right now, Bareknuckle The Mule is home base. It seems to always sound good in everything. Up until...

    58/15 LT Questions

I’m the same. I have 3 guitars P245, 594 and 594SC that came with 58/15 and 58/15LTs in them and they all have Bareknuckle pickups in them now (Abraxas, the Mule and Riff Raff). I tried Bareknuckles in my Custom 22 Piezo but went back to the 85/15s because I liked them better.

Toggle vs. Blade Switch - Which do you Prefer?

I'm also in this camp. Switch with push pulls (or push/push) or mini switches for coil splitting options. I sold a 408 and got a 2012 Signature Limited for this reason. For me, on the 408 and on many PRS with blades (and trems), the blade is in the wrong position and the trem arm always end up...

Fractal FM3: Anyone else using one?

I've been a Fractal user for years - Axe Fx II, the Ax8 as soon as they released it and now the FM3. Love(d) them all, and the FM3 is definitely a step up from the Axe Fx II and Ax8 (that shared the same modelling architecture). I use Atomic CLR as my main monitor. I have 2 and depending on gig...

Installing new PUPS in a P22 - difficult?

I have changed pickups in my Custom 22 piezo and also my P245 (I actually ended up reinstalling the 58/15's in my Cu22p). You don't have to flip the magnets, you can wire them electrically backwards so if black is ground and red is hot, you wire the red to ground and use black as the hot wire...

Replace the volume knob for a 3 way switch?

It’s one of my main dislikes with certain models as well and to me one of the main benefits of the CU 22/24 Piezo over the non-piezo models. The Piezo models have their 5 way switch much further forward and not in the way of the tremolo like the non-piezo models have. I had a 408 that I sold for...

I need a McCarty. With trem. With piezo...

There's 85/15's in this guitar. I haven't tried any other pickups or heard 85/15's in any other guitar so wouldn't know what difference would be the wood combination or the pickups. And it does sound great to me and the rosewood neck is sublime to play.

I need a McCarty. With trem. With piezo...

This is my closest one - P22 Artist Package in Charcoal Burst, Rosewood Neck, Ebony Fingerboard. Very happy with this one :)

coil tap with Freeway switch (instead of rotary)

I have used the freeway switch in a couple of my PRSs, and currently have a P245SH with one. There's a few different versions of the freeway switch, the one in the video is pretty much a direct replacement for the rotary switch, with the outer/inner parallel, and inner series option. For that...
