    Kill pot?

You can directly replace your volume pot with the killpot from shadow. No holes required. Just solder the leads to the jack on the bottom of the pot, and the regular lugs exactly as they are on the current pot.

PRS Earns 2017 Platinum Award from Safety Council

Awesome! I worked in a machine shop for a few years owned by “old school” management. Aluminum dust on everything, no guarding on lathes, rancid coolant in our mills etc. All they cared about was production. I’m glad PRS cares about the employees, and makes the effort to protect them. Great...

    2013 S2 24 issue

Guy swears he didn’t mess with them, but I don’t believe it. So the cavity is a bit of a mess, and I don’t know if the wiring diagrams for the S2 are the same as the core. Anyone know? In any case both black wires should be on soldered to the top of the tone pot casing?

    2013 S2 24 issue

hello all, So I recently upgraded from an se 24 to it’s s2 sibling. Used deal on the web. Overall, I love this guitar and the difference between the models is apparent. The issue I have is the pickups. I noticed looking st them when I received it from ups that the poles were really high, and...

What amp do us peasants play our SE's through?

Informed assumption, actually. You posted in the solid state amp thread. My issue is the piece of junk comment, and I stand by my original post. Would you sound like yourself through a Roland cube? I hope so. I know I would. Same with a matchless or a bogner. Playing well doesn’t necessitate a...

...magician, not the wand(s). Your criteria for junk is anything under a certain price point or solid state I’d guess. Foolish.

    NGD-First Guitar day

Katana or the blackstar stereo amps. The Katana is more balanced and isn’t a one trick pony. It responds well to subtle adjustments. New 200, and used I’ve seen anywhere from 120 to 175. Not many though. Relatively new so the market isn’t flooded with them. The blackstar 40 head is a great...

    NGD-First Guitar day

No I definitely get that too. I’ve tried a lot of amps and pedal combos in my relatively short picking career. Most of it was beneficial to figure out what I really needed and would use. Modeling amps are hit and miss. Line 6 is a big miss for me. Too heavy on the metal tones, not much else...

Disagree. I say get a Boss Katana, or one of the Vox modeling amps. You’ll get a lot more options to mess with and it’ll sound great. As great as a tube amp? No, but you just started...keep it simple. I play through modeling amps over tube. I’m enjoying the apartment life, so volume is my...

Help with SE custom 24 trem saddles

Drink like 10 Cups of coffee and experience the elation, brother. That's my routine. First thing in the morning I like to approach the LD50 of caffeine. Relaxation is weird. Jk. I don't even need coffee. I just look at my bridge and wonder how many thousandths I'm off from perfectly level. One...

Help with SE custom 24 trem saddles

See I'm more in your camp. If I know the bridge is set right, the intonation is on etc. I spend zero time wondering if I can make my gitfiddle play better. It's great. Then I just buzz up and down the neck marveling at how well it plays. On the other hand...if I know a few saddles look crooked...

Help with SE custom 24 trem saddles

So I'm talking about the saddles individually. E on both sides will be lower to match the fretboard, but keeping them level as in the two screws on each saddle. Can't be good to have them tilted, and the measurement isn't exactly easy with a straight edge.

Help with SE custom 24 trem saddles

True. I just want to learn more about guitars, and I would consider a setup maintenance. Even still I might take your advice. If nothing else it will be right and I'll know what it should be.

Help with SE custom 24 trem saddles

Hi all. Long time lurker and decade and some change noodler. I've tried a lot of import guitars, and PRS is the one I always come back to. Got a very lightly used SE custom 24 ok craigslist. Love the way it plays and the sounds (especially the neck pup split) and I've decided I'm tired of...
