It's just cosmetic. It won't hurt anything. When a pre-molded nut is utilized, this often happens, especially on guitars that may have a thicker finish.

I absolutely love how those look. I'd be sold if I could get them with brass knobs or with the same white knobs that my stock tuners have.

I haven't played a Zach Myers, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but with 335-style semis I've always found them to be very thin sounding with gain, almost like an LP through a fuzz instead of amp gain. I like them just fine for cleans and mild overdrive, but as soon as the gain gets...

There seems to be a lot of variation in people's measured pickup values on the 85/15 LT S, at least in the bridge. Most of the necks seem to measure at or just under 7k. Bridges seem to measure hotter, usually around 7.5k. The bridge in my SE 594 DC actually measures a hair lower than my neck...

Every issue with the DGT that you mentioned points back to a poorly cut nut, which is a very easy fix for a good tech or luthier.

That charcoal is killer, but I'm glad I grabbed the blue one while I could!

Of course you can replace just one pickup. Any 4 wire humbucker can be installed with no loss of functionality, as Bowtiefanatic said. Just don't pick a vintage-style 2 wire pickup.
