Coming up on 16 weeks since my guitar arrived to the PTC. It was in basecoat having the poly coats applied when I checked on the status on May 25th. Hoping it might be on its way back next week.

All the stock preamp tubes used are JJ, and the stock power tubes are Ruby 6L6GC-MSTR (which are Chinese Shuguang).

The Archon's headshell is a lot smaller than most 100w heads, and at 40 lbs isn't that difficult to transport. I get that a 20 lb head is a bit easier to move around but for me that doesn't matter as much as tone.

I've also owned the 90w Mark V and extensively played the 25w Mark. The 25w isn't a bad amp, but I don't think it sounds nearly as good as the 90w, and it certainly didn't sound better at low volumes than the 90w. I preferred the 90w mode to the 25w & 10w modes even for practice volumes...

The Archon has multiple channels and an FX loop. Not exactly a Plexi or Blackface copy either.

If you have a looper you could put it into the effects return so it isn't colored by the preamp tone. This would also allow you to use the Archon's lead channel over whatever backing track you are playing through the looper.
