I guess I'm the problem. I listened. What you guys call "so different" to me sounds "very similar" even in your recording. I mean they sound different, but just barely and only because I know to listen for it. If you hadn't told me, I would have never said "that's 2 different guitars"
Yeah... On the fence about selling. It's so awesome. But I like the 594 better. It's also a wood library with a rosewood neck.
And yes that is a korina body
Hey folks.... Wanted to get some opinions from the hive mind here on potential pickup swaps on my 594 soapbar. LOVE LOVE the guitar. But I also have a regular 594 with humbuckers and find that the 2 guitars just don't sound "different enough" from each other and I find myself playing the 594...
I'd like to do a similar mod to my Brent Mason. Basically a push pull or mini toggle that would switch the middle position between middle pickup and both humbucker .
Tacos are very tempting. I love tacos.
Still kind off on the fence. You guys make some valid points about marinating on it for a bit to see if maybe the feeling comes back. Plus I can't really decide what I'd replace it with. That new s2 studio looks pretty sweet... Not a lot of Brent Mason's...
I'm not sure what happened here guys. I bought this guitar 2 years or so ago and loved it. Been playing it almost exclusively ever since. And lately, every time I pick it up, I just find myself putting it back down and reaching for my Les Paul. You ever have that happen to you before?
I hate...
Well, I've decided to keep her. Partially because the BM is way more expensive than I could get for this guitar but 2, I just love it. I'm not ready to part with it yet!
Dang you general public for poo pooing such a fantastic instrument and making PRS cancel the line!
I think I'm going to keep it. I couldn't get enough for it to cover a BM. However, there is one on Reverb right now. https://reverb.com/item/6083278-prs-paul-reed-smith-sas-swamp-ash-special-narrowfield-2011-natural
