Is there a difference between the Stripped 58 and SC 245?

The specs seem to be the same. Anyone know what the difference is? I've demo'd a few SC 58's and they were all fairly nice, but pricey. Anyone know if there is a difference in overall quality between the SC 58 and the more affordable SC 245 and Stripped 58?

Sooo...no one's talking about the Archon?

I was about to pull the trigger on a new HXDA to replace the one I had to sell a while back, but now I'm torn. HXDA, MDT Paul's Amp, or Archon. It's a hard choice.

    Let's see your cabs

I'm thinking of getting a new cabinet and I'm curious what kind of PRS cabinets everyone is using. Post up some pictures of your cabs and heads. I'm especially interested to see what kind of interesting colors and/or tolex people went with.

Help me pick a new PRS amp

HX/DA just arrived. Played around with it for about twenty minutes and it sounded very harmonic with a Huber Orca '59. Very, very touch sensitive with tons of little layers and nuanced detail in the tone. The neck pickup sounds a little dark and muddy on the Huber with all switches on HX, but...

Can you buy replacement a fascia from PRS?

So what did you find out?

Have you modded your PRS amps in any way?

I have read that Doug and his team have built custom amps with things like reverb, effects loops, and half power switches. Are any of your PRS amps modded in any way or are they stock design? If you do have a modded amp, what did you have done and how did it turn out? Also, did PRS do the work...

Help me pick a new PRS amp

Okay, I had to make a hard choice. All of these PRS amps sound interesting, but it's only practical for me to get one for the foreseeable future. I'm in the process of trying to get my first Harley, so sacrifices have to be made somewhere. HXDA is incoming. I had a chance to very briefly...

Help me pick a new PRS amp

Damn, I wish I could play all three in person. But thanks for those descriptions, they've helped me make up my mind. I've decided I want them all. Wow, that was easy!

NGD: PRS P22 Artist Package Quilt Aqua Verde Fog

I usually don't care for the PRS guitars with really fancy tops, but that one is very cool. Enjoy.

Help me pick a new PRS amp

Agreed, at least up to a point. I would Love the opportunity to test drive all of them, even if I had to drive an hour or two. But unfortunately, even though I live in the fourth largest city in America, there's not a single guitar dealer anywhere in the city with even one of these amps...

Help me pick a new PRS amp

Right now, based on what I know, I'm still leaning toward the MDT. But I haven't ruled out the Blistertone or HXDA. I've found more information and samples of the HXDA than any other amp from the PRS custom shop, so it seems safe to say the HXDA is fairly popular. What I am using as a benchmark...

Help me pick a new PRS amp

I also found these videos, which are useful up to a point, but they do tend to leave a lot to be desired in the information department. The way they're edited, they don't even tell the viewer which amp is being played. And that, unfortunately, goes a long way toward mooting the potential value...

Help me pick a new PRS amp

Again, I know they're all really good amps and that Doug is a wizard, so no need to sell me on that. I had an opportunity to mess with a somewhat beat up H at Guitar Center, and I briefly was able to play around with an HXDA. But I didn't get to spend much time with it before real life intruded...

Help me pick a new PRS amp

Do you know how the Sewell (or the Blistertone if it sounds similar) compares to the MDT or HX/DA? I know they're all supposed to be good amps, I'm just trying to get a handle on what the actual differences are in overall character. Neither the PRS web site nor the PRS videos do a very good job...

Help me pick a new PRS amp

I'm in the market for a new amp and I'm pretty sure I want a PRS. So, now I need to decide which one, which isn't easy as there are so few places which stock high-end PRS amps where one can play the various models and compare them. The Internet is my friend today. I believe I have it down to...
