I tried the dryer sheet and it's worked for now. How long does that typically last? I live in Virginia and it's not exactly dry here, so I'm hoping this won't be a reoccurring problem. Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks man. Not sure what I'm going to do. Mine also does it when I rub up and down the neck. The pick guard static is pretty severe though.

Thank you! I just got mine and am having the same problem. Back in my bass playing days, my jazz basses often would do the same thing. I'm just comforted in knowing that it's not a one off issue with my SS.
