uhhhh, showing my age. Does anyone know if this is a CE or Custom? sounds like a maple neck, but hard to say. I really dig the tones from this album.

I always loved my PG pickups close to the strings. the coil tap sounds are unreal good through a Marshall type circuit. Vox even better.

I think the ebony board would add a little more focus and be perfect. I do like that Derek Trucks tone Brian had going in the beginning though.

I feel the same way, bras and Indian for solid bodies. Admittedly subjective, I do feel if you handle enough instruments there willl be clear trends to your perceptions. I feel ebony and blackwood sound a little dull in the lower register and sometimes lacking body in the upper register on...

IME, ebony and african blackwood fretboards are good and often magical pairings with semi hollow/chambered guitars. I refuse to spec solid solid bodies with those fretboards now.

To clarify, I meant within the pattern and pattern vintage examples I have handled. could not say about pattern regular and thin.
