SE Headstock Mod - Fun times with Vinyl

I would like to see and about your experience with the clear-coating you add. It’s been a few years now and this vinyl has the look of staying on: no issues.

Thanks for the on-going info, you guys are a wealth of knowledge... Yes, I think I had a bit of luck is getting this Bernie...I was on a SC hunt and this one popped about a year ago so I grabbed it....I do love the top..it's almost Cherry Vintage..? As for the headstock, I just ordered a...

NGD - the 2012 Stripped 58 has landed!

That Stripped 58 looks awesome!!!...congrats on that score. I have to dig into those more as I've heard 57/08 only once before and I didn't have a good reference at the time. In following some advice from here and other threads, I too was not digging the "darker" tones from the stock Bernie...

SE Headstock Mod - Fun times with Vinyl

Yes...that does sound like a great, non-comittment type of approach!! I'll try that as well..awesome and thanks for the feedback. Long term, not sure if stripping the black SE-Logo headstock paint would reveal a good visual wood grain or not but I'm liking the darker, red-wood that this vinyl is...

SE Headstock Mod - Fun times with Vinyl

Bringing this up again due a small issue just occurring…… aside from the adhesive that comes o the decal,… is there a way to make it more permanent? My issue is the edges…..I can see that some points on the edges, it’s starts to lift up as if the adhesive is drying out. Instead of doing a full...

Yes.....even though they're not recessed, the visual of the clear or amber lampshades will improve it cosmetically.

Also, not a lot of room on the Bernie cavity either......just enough for the 3 pots and it appears that the CTS take a lot of real-estate in order to add "2" of them.

Simon, Thanks for the details...awesome. I'm thinking exact along those lines, with the 2.2 & 1.2 resistors on the P/P switches, the isolated coil will still have some input when going to split-mode keeping the tone a little beefed and helping with the "hum". The replacement pups I have are 4...

Deepender, thanks for the info..... On the current ATS pots, I had treble-cut mod added on both volumes to keep the highs there when turned down....So now with this option, I'll see about adding the 1.2 & 2.2 resistors in the P/P switches as well. also, those would be 500k pots..? Correct?

Would there be info on which brand of push/pull switches are used and any specific model..? ex: DGT? I know there are a few to choose: CTS, ATS, Dimarzios, etc... I was going to attempt this on just my master tone as I'm about to install a new set of pups. But in thinking of the options and...
