I’ve had a horrible sinus infection this week, and really wanted to go on Thursday to see Mark. Glad you picked up a great pedal. Planning on hitting NStuff next Friday. I’m assuming Mark was incredible 😉
This one reminds me of my first electric, a Hondo II LP wine red copy I had in 1979. Hoping when I go to try it there’s a difference from my core ‘08 McCarty and my 58/15LT equipped Hollowbody SE. I’ll be comparing it to a Goldtop SE DGT as well. Anyone have the standard? opinions ?
Based on what you have, and if I was picking one more to fill out my "rig" it would be the Silver Sky or Fiore (in Black Iris, as the semi transparent finishes don't thrill me). Having those in between tones with either of these would be fulfilling to my ears. I recall seeing the Police on...
I tend to use my compressor with my SE Silver Sky...but I'm really digging the Xotic Super Sweet boost I got last week far more than the comp.
Even a klon/klone with the gain under 9 oclock, treble at noon, volume to taste is a great pedal with single coils.
The understated piece of Bryan's demos is the Sonzera 20 combo used with guitars costing four or five times what the amp costs. Now that amp sounds stellar or Bryan is bringing his own pedals to the party and we ain't seeing them.
But Bryan is a tasteful player and great rep for PRS.
The ZM will have more bite with 245s pickups, but a significant difference than your 594s, I’d say no. I’ve had two ZMs, modded the pups in both and sold both. I don’t like the Singlecut body style, just feels “off”.
Hollowbody, Mesa and the YEM in your avatar sort of point to a pair of ‘59 Duncan’s. Want more push…Pearly Gates. For PRS pickups, the 57/08s are hot and will definitely drive the amp ( I have those in my 2009 McCarty.
perhaps, but it will boost the mids and cut treble and bass...you'll get a creamier tone, but maybe not "fat" enough. Have fun, experimenting is free !!!
