That’s right, mine was a sprayers choice and they said the color was simply called custom color. Looking at it again is making me regret getting rid of it!
I had a custom 24 like that as well, started off as a wood library but sold as a 10 top with a custom color. From what PRS told me they don’t name the custom colors so no official finish name for your guitar.
I figured out a great way around justifying the expense to my wife, she took out student loans to go to school and I didn’t, so the way I see it I saved us tons of money that can be spent on more guitars!
On the right top faded whale blue is definitely my favorite finish. One day I’ve got to get one like yours because it looks perfect! It’s interesting how much you like the pattern thin carve after being into the pattern vintage carve. I had one 594 and could not get along with the neck at all...
I do remember being surprised how loud the vela was unplugged, so I believe it was louder than the CE24 but I don’t remember by how much.
I can’t say I’ve noticed a stability difference between neck woods on PRS guitars. I’ve owned plenty of mahogany and maple PRS necks and they’ve all been...
I owned both a reclaimed CE24 and vela for awhile. I ended up selling the vela but now I wish I had hung on to it. The CE24 is more versatile but the Vela had its own cool unique thing going on, it sounded really good for low gain and clean tones. I probably would have replaced the bridge...
Mine was my Reclaimed CE-24. I had been a Les Paul player most of my life but always drooled over the PRS hanging at the very top of the walls in guitar center. When I saw the Reclaimed run announced and the actual reasonable price I jumped at getting one. Of course I quickly accumulated more...
Well that explains why I don’t care for the wide thin neck on my 08 Mira. It feels very flat to me and I couldn’t figure out why. My 2017 CE24 feels a little better and my 2020 24-08 feels perfect, I guess they reduced the shoulders gradually over the years.
